Hi, Does anyone know if you are restoring a tractor and you find out it was a white demonstater should it be painted white or red??? Thanks Bill

If it came from the factory white, and you have proof that this was a demonstrator, then put it back to it's original state. People may think it looks funny but with the documentation to back it up it would be a unique tractor.

It's one of those personal things. If it were me...then I'd try to restore it to being as it was. However, if you want to paint it pink, then that's your business.

The topic of what to do with a supposed white demonstrator has been an oft commented on topic on many forums.
The Cub Demonstrators were all built during the first 3 months on the 1950 production year. The serial number range is believed to be 99356 to 106516.
Many owners of the White Demonstrator Cubs as well as others in the Letter Series have repainted the tractor white. Oh, by the way the correct colour is "Whitecap White" and the paint codes can be found under Paint, Decals and Other Finish ?'s on the Cub Manual Server
In fact, many owners of Cubs within the serial number range for demonstrators usually check for signs of white paint, then if they find it and when they restore the tractor many paint them white.
You might already know this, but IH instructed the Dealers to repaint the tractors IH 50 (now IH 2150) Red after the Demonstrator Program ended. However, not all dealers did this. Also, those that did, usually did not paint the underside of the hood, so you would be able to see the white paint under the accumulated dirt and grime.
